I was raised in Bay Shore, New York, where my father owned a personal injury practice on Long Island. Growing up, I was passionate about lacrosse and was blessed to play for the United States Naval Academy. After graduation, I started my military career as a Navy F/A-18 pilot. I served for over 12 years, mostly on the west coast, and on various aircraft carriers. Afterwards, I attended law school at the University of San Diego while I continued my Navy service as a reservist. After passing the bar, I received an unexpected recall to active duty for a one-year deployment to Iraq. Upon return, I practiced law with my father’s firm and then started my own law practice in 2013. By 2016, my family felt called to move to Ada, Michigan (my wife’s hometown) and we moved in 2017. After closing my NY practice and spending 2 years as a stay-at-home Dad, I started Tierney Law and Associates in 2020. In both New York and Michigan, my practice areas were focused on estate planning, elder law, probate, and representing small businesses.

Although my Michigan practice was growing, I missed being part of a team and the camaraderie that comes when virtues and values align to accomplish a mission. I am grateful to God for the opportunity to be a part of LightStone Law. I look forward to establishing strong client and professional relationships outside and inside the office.

The move to Michigan has been a blessing to me and my family. The seeds of a Christian faith that were planted in New York have grown in Michigan so that I am a follower of Jesus. I attend Calvary Church and love to share my passion for the gospel, apologetics, and CrossFit.
